The Fabulous Food 1 Malaysia – Street Food Promotion offers glorious food and festivities as well as popular delectable street dishes such as laksa, Penang Kway teow, Bak Kut The, Nasi Lemak, Roti Prata to name a few.
The colorful mix of the Street Food delicacies is very much a reflection of Malaysia’s cultural melting pot, not only existing together, but melding together to evolve a new and distinct personality.

“Malaysia’s cuisine is TRULY UNIQUE and in a world that increasingly offers more of the same through homogenous chain stores and franchises, Malaysia’s local fare stands out with its amazing range of choices, flavors and textures, which make food a serious business.” Said YB Dato’ Sri Dr. Ng Yen Yen Minister Of Tourism Malaysia’s at the speech launch of Fabulous 1 Malaysia-Hawker Food Promotion at Taman Malaysia Hawkers Centre, Johor Bahru on Sunday 6th Dec.2009.
By highlighting Street Food cuisine, visitors will have the opportunity to savor the many rich hawker food flavors from all corners of the country and have an authentic experience immersing in other aspects of the Malaysian culture.

The diversity of Street Food and the wealth of choices, this year the Ministry gives its focus to three popular dishes which include Nasi Lemak, Laksa and Bak kut The (Meat Bone Tea),chosen for their uniqueness and relations to Malaysia culture and heritage.
The ministry hopes to choose the top 10 outlets from each the 14 states in the country to be listed in the Fabulous 1 Malaysia Tracker Guide which will be promoted widely in the country as well as during the Ministry’s overseas promotion trips. It is hoped that the Fabulous Food 1 Malaysia drive as a whole will also create a buzz and encourage conversation amongst local residents.
The Ministry of Tourism had actively promoted a number of tourism products including our hotels accommodation, shopping, travel, adventure and island trips. At the same time, we also never forget to recommend our delicious street food, amongst the popular dishes are the ever tantalizing Otak_Otak Muar, Penang Char Kway Teow, Roti Prata, Tea Tarik and Klang Bak Kut Teh.
Tourist that travel to Malaysia will never forget the beautiful scenery, our Malaysia warmth and friendliness and our streets for ours tasty snacks and food.
Hawkers of all ethnic groups should work together for the “Fabulous Food 1 Malaysia” to recommend the most delicious street food of Malaysia.
Year 2008 out of the total RM8.7 billion tourism receipts gotten, RM72.3 million was spent on food and beverage in Malaysia.
