" It is Johor's highest mountain and offers visitors crystal clear rivers and breathtaking waterfalls amidst tranquility, in an unspoilt environment."

Standing at 1,267m, Gunung Ledang (Mount Ledang) is Johor's highest mountain and it can be accessed both from Johor (Sagil) and Melaka (Asahan). The journey to the top will take approximately five hours through the dense jungle.

Among the locals, Gunung Ledang (formerly Mt Ophir) is more well known for its mysterious reputation rather than as a natural attraction. At the mention of this mountain, stories of the legendary Puteri Gunung Ledang, entwined with tales of supernatural encounters easily come to mind.

But mysticism aside, the Ledang's natural beauty, with its challenging mountain trails, icy waterfalls and varieties of flora and fauna, is able to enchant both believers and skeptics alike. Its breathtaking waterfalls known as Puteri Waterfall; make for popular picnic spots, especially on weekends and public holidays, while the breathtaking view from the summit lures thrill seekers to scale this mountain. Various amenities, including rest shades, dressing rooms, camping sites, food stalls and car parks are provided here.

Getting there

Take the Muar-Segamat bus and step off at Sagil. Some buses stop at Gunung Ledang. Then you have to do another one km walk. If you drive your own car, head for Tangkak (in Muar district), or Segamat town (in Segamat district). The entry to the mountain is near Sagil along the Tangkak - Segamat trunk road.

"Gunung Ledang bagus untuk semua peringkat umur kerana ianya tidak curam seperti Kota Tinggi."   by Atira

"Gunung Ledang[AP] is my favourite place where i can release my tension or mt my bf..if i fel tension with my friends,i will go there..."   by Nur Syuhada

"Kehijauan hutan yang menarik. Sesuai untuk berkhemah dan mendaki."   by Fitri Alia

"Alhamdulillah, sye sampai ke puncak g ledang.Memang menajubkan ciptaan Allah S.W.T,segala2nyer memang indah dan ader rahsia disebaliknyer hanya Allah sahaja yang mengetahui.Sesiapa yang belum sampai ke puncak..tawanlah g ledang..SERONOKKKK.."   by zue

"as a mountain climber...Gunung ledang can be said as a beginner phase..GUnung tahan is much more difficult"   by Mifs

"kali pertama mendaki gunung ni..aku teringat kisah Puterinya..dan yg menyedihkan..aku gagal sampai ke puncak sebab hujan lebat selama tiga hari berturut2"   by Iwan

"If you go to Johor, not complet never stay at Gunung Ledang for one night or more. With heightly 1245 meter, try to stay at height 500 m, feell neutral forest like past time, feell cool water river and survivor never end. Just pay RM4.00 to Forest Department you can see every thing. "   by Abdul HalimAbu Bakar

"a relaxing hiking track, lots of checkpoint where u can camp n eat, great waterfalls view, extraordinary view from the peak (especially at night) and also some difficult routes to go through (u have to use ropes), great experience!"   by zety

"Great place to cool off in the mountain cool waters, which I found that it gives the skin a real good scrup. Feel its 2 notches up from K Tinggi as a destination. If not for the causeway jam, would be there every month."   by Jaga G.

"GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"   by ME

"tempat yang paling sesuai untuk bersantai sambil bergembira...aku dah daki puncak dia...memang tinggi...kalau hari cerah, boleh nampak pencawang daripada ketinggian puncak tersebut...view memang high class...lagi best daki waktu malam walaupun aku tak pernah daki waktu malam...tapi aku akan cuba...long live johor..."   by iwan

"Gunung Ledang looks good in the movie, but I wonder if the stories of mystical encounters really have any basis. "

"mount ophir reali rocks !!! i love de waterfall !"   by Bao

"VERY GOOD................................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"lokasinya strategik membuatkan kami dtg berulang kali utk menikmati air terjun dan mendaki gunung, tetapi tahap kebersihannya amat menyedihkan"   by black

"great....simply fabulous. i mean...really for those who love adventure. and mind you, for the fitter ones, u can complete the climb in 5 to 6 hours. but you can always take your own sweet time, exploring and enjoying nature and yet you can complete the climb in 1 and a half days. "
